Danta Corcovado Lodge est situé tout près de l'entrée Los Patos du Parc National de Corcovado.

C'est un lodge très sympatique, le proprio, Merlin est un tico d'une trentaine d'années avec
une vision tout à fait originale pour ce qui concerne la construction de ses "bungalows".

Cette année (c'est la 5ème fois qu'on y séjourne), nous avons habité la "Martilla" pour 8 jours.

Cette maison sur pilotis, que nous appelons affectueusement notre "bug-galow"

est très spacieuse et compte un coin cuisine. C'est assez "rustico-tipico".

Danta Corcovado lodge is located near the Los Patos entrance of the Corcovado Natinal Park.
It is a very neat place, the owner, Merlin a Tico in his thirties has a very original vision regarding
the construction of his bungalows. This year (it's the fifth time we stay there), we stayed in
"la Martilla". It's a house build on stilts with a kitchenette. We call it our "bug-galow"
it's very spacious and it is what you can call "rustico-tipico".

Voiçi la salle de bain. Elle est, semi-extérieure. Il y a un moustiquaire pour le 1er
2 mètres environs et après, c'est tout ouvert jusqu'au toit. Il y a des fougères et
autre plantes d'ombre, elles sont en pleine terre. La douche, eau froide seulement
mais bon, il fait tellement chaud que c'est très bien quand même.
Elle coule dans une sorte de bain en ciment. Assez original.

Here is the bathroom. It is semi-exterior. There is a screen for about the first
6 feet or so and than after that, it's open until the roof. There are some ferns and
other plants growing in the shade. Those are directly planted in the ground.
You don't mind the cold shower, because it's so hot and humid around here.
Water flows from the shower into a bath made of cement. It is pretty original.    

La cuisine est aussi un coin spécial... elle est comme dehors mais à l'intérieur en même temps.
C'est un peu comme ces maison d'autrefois où il y avait une cuisine d'été excepté qu'ici,
elle est vraiment petite. Cette maison était celle d'un homme qui se faisait appeler "le naturaliste".
C'est la première fois que notre ami Merlin loue cette maison et permet d'utiliser la cuisine.
C'est très basique. Nous avons quand même réussi à cuisiner de bon petits plats dans
cette cuisinette "rustico-basico"
 

The kitchen area is also a bit special... it is kind of outside and inside. A bit like those old houses
that had a summer kitchen except that here, it is very tiny. It used to be the house of a man who
called himself the "naturalist". It's the first time that our friend Merlin rents the house with
access to the kitchen. It is very basic. We manage to cook some very good meal in there anyway
(pasta, garlic shrimps, fish filet...) in that "rustico-basico" kitchenette.

Notre séjour à Danta, c'est avant tout le contact avec la "Grande nature". Tous les soirs, entre 16 et 18 heures, des troupes de singes écureuils plus d'une cinquantaine d'individus en tout, défillent de chaque
côté de la maison.

Our stay at Danta is, first of all for the "Great Nature". Every afternoon,
between 4 and 6 o'clock, troops of
squirrel monkeys pass by the house,
more than fifty individuals. 

Danta c'est aussi le Parc National de Corcovado, la rivière Rincon, qu'il nous faut traverser
plus de 20 fois pour nous rendre à l'entrée du parc, la Station de Los Patos.
Ce sont toutes ces créatures, grandes et petites qui nous font rire, sursauter ou même
avoir des sueurs froides! Ce sont les balades dans les sentiers qui sillonent
la jungle avec ses couleurs, ses bruits, ses odeurs.

Danta is also Corcovado National Park, the Rincon river, that we need to cross
at least 20 times to reach the entrance of the park, the Los Patos Ranger Station.
It is all those critters, big and small that make us laugh, jump or have cold sweats!
It is all the walks on those paths in the jungle with its colours sounds and smells.

Pour terminer ce volet de nos vacances je tiens à saluer France et Dail qui sont venus
passer 2 jours d'aventure avec nous.

with us to share 2 days of adventure.
